Weird! I saw the Videos/ photos on Twitter and thought the same. They're hardly A-listers are they? Face it, the WRC can't attract the big hitters - and the promoters might have to put their hands in their pockets.....
I'm sorry to say, it just has 'low rent' written all over it.....
Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

I definetly do not agree with you; I find such kind of "promo shows" very welcome, as there are also persons, who pay for this beautiful sport....not to mention local Politics. For the drivers those few extra miles can not be any extra load, after all they are professional drivers.
They even do not use their cars which are used for races (except Tanak in this particular case....).
At the end, ther might be also spectacors, who do not feel comfortable to drive few houndred miles away to spectace WRC cars in artic conditions....

Personally couldn't care less which celebrities attend WRC event PR shows, but the "A-listers" are attracted by glamorous events i.e. F1, tennis or anything else where money is obviously present. To the average person rallying is one rung up the ladder from banger racing.
It's refreshing to see that the WRC WAGs aren't all models who are clearly in it for the money, most of them appear to be genuine down to earth sort of people. It's something we should be proud of about our sport, and if anything try not to encourage the façade of money and glamour. We can leave that to our roundy roundy friends

Didn't want to open a debate on this show actually.
It is just me personally that I don't like it. It's good if it is useful for some reason. Just I'm very much different to the people who enjoy it.
Can some good mate link some free live stream of the SS1? Couldn't find it so far. Thanks!

http://www.rtbf.be/livecenter/live_w...ciale?id=48729 Link for the live-stream on RTBF (French-speaking national TV in Belgium). I don't know if it works abroad.

It's not designed for fan enjoyment. It's a PR exercise for the series and the teams. In theory it should provide value to the series - but only if you can get people looking at the WRC who ordinarily wouldn't be. That's why if they are going to do it, having some French speed walking champion in the car isn't really worth it IMO. You need celebrities who have reach who can attract different media and fans.
Idris Elba last year was the one stand-out I'd say. Caroline Wozniacki is a good person they managed to get this year. But beyond that it's just small-fry.
Anyway soon there will be something more interesting to talk about.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia
