If teams are complaining about budget if we head to 14 rounds then maybe trimming the amount of testing days is a possibility?

It just strikes me that, 11 rounds into the season when you've already run on tarmac and gravel, and in the case of Citroen your car is almost six years old - what else can you really learn that you shouldn't already know?

I'm not saying they should cut development time on new cars or anything like that. Maybe it's something to look at from 2018 onwards when people have got used to the new spec WRC machinery.

I think this 14 rounds stuff is just some Todt's political move. Manufacturers want China, ASNs don't want to lose their round and he wants to keep good relationship with everybody. So he decided to add China and let manufacturers decide about the round to delete from the calendar (not him or FIA).

All the scenarios are good for him:

- Manufacturers will say that they will not go for 14 rounds (in that case FIA has ready his move asking them which round they want to cancel, letting manufacturer take the decision and him "forced" to take it).

- Manufacturers agree with 14 rounds calendar and everyone is happy.

- Only one manufacturer don't agree with 14 round but given the fact he is the only one he will go for 14 rounds anyway.

That is all well and good but the manufacturers alone do not have the power to make this decision. It is down to the WRC Commission, which includes the manufacturers, key WRC figureheads and also the event organisers. They have a voting system, and four votes is not enough to get anything pushed through. It is no wonder that anything voted on by the event organisers is going to side with more events. It's really the makeup of the Commission that has caused a big issue.

You're right but it is not just a vote that count, you know well that manufacturers have had more power in WRC decisions that just their 4 votes. Now they have a bit less of power and it is a sort of a paradox because this is happening since they're growing in number...

By the way what I meant is that FIA just did not want to take (or to participate actively on) this decision, so that everybody will keep having good relationship with Todt and they all can manage this issue themself.
