That's actually what caused us the issue, if we hadn't walked around we'd probably have made it out easier. We were at the top of the camping field and decided (following getting stuck in the queue last year) that we would be better off watching the presentations and then having a stroll. After that we made our way back to the van and decided to exit through the paddock (one of the marshals had said that it was possible), at which point we got well and truly stuck. If we'd actually just hopped straight in the van then we'd probably have been out the gate before many people got to their cars.
I really can't understand the people that were leaving during the semi-finals though, I'd rather wait in 2 hours of traffic than miss out on the racing!
Photos nothing in comparison to yours (not helped by me only shooting on Saturday morning during practice...at which point it was all cloudy). Still doing the organising/editing phase but reasonably happy with this one, just a shame about the dust kicked up by the car in front

Ah, damn, that was unlucky. I could at least see a sequence in what they were doing with the car parks: pity we were at the end of the sequence!
My mate are I were saying the same thing! The finals are the best bit of the day, seemed crazy to leave before they were done!
I haven't really looked at my Lydden shots yet, so don't be sure you haven't bettered me! Nice shot, the dust can be a real pain on the exit of Chessons, once the first car has passed through the rest of the cars are often obscured."If in doubt... flat out!"

Can anybody clarify the level of support that Ford is giving Olesberg, Volkswagen is giving Marklund Motorsport and Peugeot is giving Team Hansen? Are they all factory teams?

Yeah, spot on. Marklund have been given access to information (and I believe parts) from the VW WRC program, hence why those cars were vastly improved last season. EKS are sponsored by Audi, but they are not officially a factory team.
The Kristoffersson Motorsport Polos are backed by VW Sweden, so again there is a factory connection there, but they are not an official works team. I heard rumours last year that Citroen were going to officially back PSRX but that doesn't seem to have happened.
M-Sport are arguably the closest thing to a "works" Ford rallycross team, but they aren't running any cars in the World Championship this year.

I well remember WRC after 2008-2009, when both Subaru and Suzuki pulled off, but eventually with the 1600 WRC cars it recovered very well. It was the same story, high costs, low return of...
