Nothing truly shocking about the qualifying session, except that McLaren finished dead last.

Here's something odd:
McLaren boss Eric Boullier says that .... that conservative engine settings are part of the reason for the team's poor showing today.
Which doesn't seem to agree with...........
"There is no such thing in modern F1 that you don't turn the engine on completely." Toto Wolfe
Also, we have heard all winter that you can't tell who has what from testing, but qualifying shook out exactly like testing suggested it would!
Also, we thought we might have 20 cars, which went out thwe window with Manor not running, and then we thought we might have 176 if Sauber got their equipment seized. Now it turns out we might have 17 because Williams is unsure if Botas can race tomorrow.
Alonso couldn't have picked a better race to sit out. The McLarens are slow and unreliable. Has a slow and unreliable car ever won anything?Last edited by Doc Austin; 14th March 2015 at 17:18.
