Put Mikkelsen in a Fiesta and see what he does, Latvala is possibly 2nd best but Mikkelsen is no way 3rd best even in his dreams. That he is doing what he is now is proof that the Polo is a level above the other cars

I am open to the possibility that he is not the current 3rd best driver in the championship, but at the same time I can't think of any strong evidence to the contrary? Meeke possibly...

Just got back home, I was not able to follow closely saturday and sunday except power stage, and I didn't miss anything I guess. After Loeb's mistake it was a huge anti-climax, everyone playing it safe and drive home. Nothing interesting going on.

A general though: Loeb's return after 16-18 months and being the only one able and willing to match Ogier's times, says a lot about the lack of competitiveness of the championship and Ogier's superiority. Let's see what Latvala can do in other rallies.

Kubica was on Friday on the same pace as Loeb and Ogier, and faster than them at half stages that day, and of course Saturday monster ss10 ; ) Of course he was out of fight in gen classification but still...

Frustrating isn't it. Funnily my hopes for some competitive teams this year would go to.... Ford. Meeke is fast, but still prone to mistakes, Ostberg, don't want to comment. Hyundai seem to be keen to cruising until new i20 arrive, may be don't have other choice anyway, still I very much doubt the new car will be strong and competitive right from the start. Yes, Kubica said that pirellis are very good on dry tarmac, but are worse on wet than Michelins.

Will be interesting to see how Pirellis are on gravel nad snow

That does not mean that mikkelsen doesn't deserve third place...

VW choose him as a 3rd driver and the fact that he finishes 3rd in rallies behind the 2 other polos in a surface that has yet to master is a good indication that VW choice was correct.
