that doesn't help much, need to be more specific.... if there is enough ice and snow then we might have a fight until Ogier gets the lead if not he will probably be in the lead after 1-2 stages.

depents on right/wrong tyre choices also.Till evening just 2 stages were with part of them with snow.
If no snow for sure Ogier has advantage with clear road.

Sections of full snow remain on high altitude stages - especially Stage 12 from Sisteron and Stage 14 which features the famous 1600m Col de Turini. Snow is also reported on tonight's opening stage from Norante.

“When you go high the snow never really clears,” explained VW team manager Sven Smeets. “Otherwise there are still some parts where there is snow and ice. On some roads they’ve put down salt, but depending on the amount they’ve put down it can still freeze overnight.”

Weather forecasts predict more inconsistent conditions over the next few days. “There’s not too much snow expected this weekend, but we always have a line in our forecast that reads ‘things can change,’” added Smeets.

“Last year, like many teams we were a little surprised by the snow that fell on the first stages. We will have to see what happens, and we can only really forecast about six hours ahead, but I think conditions will be quite similar to last year. There is not a massive amount of snow, and Turini is not a metre deep - it wasn’t last year either - but we had really wintry conditions during the rally itself."

Hahahahaha epic, i am really bored with this nose end first things all the time.one question ,i have read a lot of things about tyre choices between two sebs.in the radio i think i heard for the first stage they had same tyres, but some said they had different choices.can somebody tell me for sure what happened.i think we should open a thread for tyres for this rally, monitoring and recording tyres of the drivers for each stage.i think this will help us a lot.moderators what do you say?forumers do you agree with this proposal?

Ogier said he had the wrong choice for the first stage and the correct for the second... so he had different tyres from Loeb.

    ss1

Ogier: Almost full ice everywhere. Quite little grip, but we try to start very carefully, not so much risk for us in this one. Not an easy one to start the rally. No doubt that you need studs.

ss2 Loeb: It was ok, but a lot of gravel everywhere on the corner, gravel and mud everywhere so it was difficult. I had a good tyre choice for the first stage but it wasn't the best for the second. I passed two cars in there - I'm not sure who they were.

Ogier: I am happy to be at the finish, the stage was difficult and I was surprised about the time of the first stage. I am first on the road and it is very difficult to drive like this. I have done a wrong tyre choice on the first stage, the snow tyre was the good choice in the first stage, not this stage.

a thread just for tyres is useless...
