everest - is the highest above sea level so it is one of the three

The peak of Chimborazo is the furthest from the center of the earth..... mate

What Taz said. Because of the shape of the earth its top is actually further from the centre of the earth than Everest. I believe its in Ecuador or Bolivia isn't it.
This obviously is not an attempt at an answer, just hoping I am thinking of the right one.I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

Correct - Chimborazo is another that can claim the highest mountain claim. It is not as high above sea level as Everest, but since it is on the equator (not quite but close enough) and the Earth is squashed and not round, Chimborazo's peak is further from the centre of the Earth

Chimborazo - furthest point from the centre of the Earth
Starter did mention a fact about number 3 i.e. starts under water and is therefore tallest from base to peak, but what is is called?
