Swaziland IS
Tonga ISN'T - it is a constitutional monarchy
5 down 1 to go. The remaining one is a wee bit strange in that it is an Absolute Monarchy, but the monarch is elected by people from outside of the actual country and the Monarch is not a resident of the country in question (with clues that big it should be easy enough to figure out)

Sorry, I forgot about this.
The African Rift Valley contains many lakes. Most are saline or alkaline. There are only two that are described as being fresh water. Can you name them?Duncan Rollo

I've cocked this up. I misread my source document - it was concerned with Rift Valley lakes in Kenya only. There are actually three if you count one that's on a border.
Lake Victoria is not in the Rift Valley. Lake Tanganyika is, but it's not in Kenya.
There are numerous freshwater lakes in the sections of the Rift Valley outside Kenya - too many to list, so I'll have to rephrase the question to say
Name the three Kenyan freshwater Rift Valley lakes
Hint: flamingoes like alkali lakes so there aren't any flamingoes on these three. But you will find fish in all of them and maybe crocodiles or hippos.Last edited by D-Type; 18th November 2014 at 17:18.

Dont know much about Kenyan lakes. There is one that starts with a B and ends with an o - Bekino or something similar, don't know if it is fresh, but I think it is in Kenya?
