Problem for island events is big costs for foreign teams. And not only money costs, but also time costs...

No, back when the ferry was available the cars would only spend one week on the Island including transport times from and to the mainland. And correct me if Im wrong but that would make the time needed for the trip the same as any team going to the Algarve for Rally Portugal.

Easy calculations - for us it is 3500 kms from Czech to the port in Portugal, which means 3 days for one trip. Ferry is usually going one and half week before the rally and leaving immediatelly after rally, but then going few days back. In total, it is almost three weeks out of home for mechanics and cars...
