This is the Premiership of British Rallying, if the speccies paid more then the entry fees could come down and more crews could afford to enter.

Which other sport has it's partcipants paying to entertain the fans?
There are not many events I can think of that speccie money ends up with the organising club that would allow the entry fees to be reduced/subsidised. The Forestry commission take parking fees to fill their kitty, and most other events allow charities to take the entrance money. I dont think many fans would argue about paying money if they thought it would benefit the event directly and allow fuller entries and even pay for some overseas crews to attend and increase competition for crews in the BRC. The JMCR is one such event that donates the speccie money to local "causes" as part of an enhanced PR campaign to keep the goodwill of the locals onside.

Ironically one of the healthiest championships in the World , the Irish Tarmac Championship doesn't charge it's fans for access to the stages and they dont have a problem attracting full entries and reserves and that is in part due to the fact that they dont have any pretentions about being a feeder series to the WRC and therefore limit their entry to Grp N and R3 cars.

And as for calling the BRC premier league...!!!
