    OK, one Meeke fan's analysis...

    In the narrow view, a so-so rally. He was beaten by a few drivers who are generally slower than him, and got nothing from the power stage, but sixth is not terrible. A couple of places higher on Friday, better road position on Saturday, he would have had a shot for the podium and the power stage. Instead he drifted away from that battle.

    In the bigger picture, it's quite good. Everybody knows this is not his rally, but he got sixth. He brought home manufacturer points when JML didn't, which will no doubt please the team. And how often do you say "Kris Meeke was one of the few drivers not to go off the road"? He's fourth in the championship, with not-terrible road position for Mexico.
