Yepp... In my sport, moto-cross, when we had made the suspension longer and longer from '73 to 77 when we got to 300mm and everything was right, life was good, but sometime when things went wrong it was much more "surprisingly catastrophic" and clumsy crashes that we wouldn't have had at all when suspension was just 175-200mm.
So much more plung--and unbalanced that front could be WAY WAY down and back extended and just a little nudge and we might be suddenly spat off the bike.. I remember more than a few "wot da fuq?" and lots of bandages..

Always thought it was interesting that car suspension was so consistently about 30 years behind what we had on simple cheap moto-cross bikes..
