I think this closed gate was just a bad coincidence. It wa clearly visible that when they opened the gate it fell closed again. So, probably Mikko with broken left wheel touched the gate or threw some stones so that the gate came loose (he had probably different trajectors due to its broken tyre) and that is it.
Moreover, it is better to have thousands of spectators than having Rally GB with couple of people watching ceremonical tart or finish in the middle of the fiels... It is among the best rallies in WRC.Colins Crest = Möldri Mätas
