I assume Camel increased their sponsorship, because that airbox became yellow and had the Camel logo on it a race or so later.

Only those ears above the front suspension are similar.

It was also the last Williams that WASN'T designed by Adrian Newey (well until 1998 anyway!), so I'd be surprised to see any Newey lineage in there at all.

Well spotted.

Had Flavio done any design copying, of course, it would be deemed entirely acceptable and the other teams would be called 'weak' for having not done likewise.

Saint Devote mentioned the 1990 Williams airbox being similar to the Red Bull - and while it isn't, it is similar in general principle in that the air inlet sticks out forward of the bodywork, but that is not unique to the RB, all cars are like that now. This trend reappared with Williams and Jordan in 1997 and soon became universal, presumably because it gave more and/or cleaner airflow into the engine. Maybe Williams had the right idea back in 1990 but since the car was poor by Williams standard (presumably for other reasons), combined with the fact that it was (and still is!) uglier than the simpler holes that were on virtually all other early 90s cars, they gave up on the idea?
Jordan 196 (simpler airbox arrangement, common before then): http://b.f1-facts.com/ul/a/541
Jordan 197 (similar to 1990 Williams): http://b.f1-facts.com/ul/a/5214

Interesting analysis of the airbox shapes back in the 90's.
Now you reminded me how beautiful those 90's F1 cars were.

If there is no other option, they will drive slower cars. And I think that both of them will not retire unless they will have to or there will be no other option or when they will not be competitive...
