MotoGP And Eurosport
I have heard that Eurosport don't broadcast the MotoGP in 2009, is it true?
If yes, why?
I have also heard that Eurosport broadcast the French GP only. True?
If that story is true, it's really sad. I always watch the MotoGP and Eurosport was/is a very good broadcaster with very good commentators (the German speaking Eurosport at least
. Anyway, I can watch the Grand Prixs on DSF but I'm afraid that they ruin it by a commercial break invasion, like RTL did it.
That brings me to an another question.
Why is the MotoGP not so popular on telly like the F1? I mean the Road Racing World Championship exists since 1949 and the Grand Prix World Championship (Formula One) since 1950.

British Eurosport has it (originally it was thought they wouldn't, there was a massive outcry and it was redeemed), not sure about across the rest of the continent for 2009.

It's almost as it was, except the MotoGP race won't be live - it will be delayed. Blame Dorna/BBC for this.

Thank you for your trouble but I'm a little bit confused. They start to broadcast at 10 PM, they usually start to broadcast the highlights of the Bundesliga at that time. Do they broadcast the 125cc and 250cc too, or just the MotoGP? Originally Posted by axxexs

The schedule was what DSF will send. So they send everything live exept 125 warm-up and the 250 race. Originally Posted by cynisca

Dorna wanted MotoGP to be on free terrestrial TV to be accessible to more people. From the big European markets, UK, Spain and Italy already had free tv coverage so Germany and France were actually the 2 main targets to get MotoGP on terrestrial TV (as well as other smaller european countries) Originally Posted by cynisca

Terrestrial channels wouldn't do a deal if Eurosport was still showing MotoGP so Dorna didn't renew the deal with Eurosport
French Eurosport was the first to reach a deal to show all the practice, qual, 125, 250, but the MotoGP race is going to be on the terrestrial channel, maybe that's what heard and not that Eurosport will only broadcast the French GP, after a lot of fan complains as patnicholls said British Eurosport made a similar deal.
Because motorcycle racing doesn't appeal to as many people as F1. More people drive cars than ride bikes and therefore is easier to relate to auto racing than motorcycle racing.That brings me to an another question.

Also a lot people consider motorcycle riders as reckless risk takers and don't appreciate the skill required to race bikes.I got my motorcycle jacket, but I'm walking all the time...
