People tend to follow "WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS" when it comes to motorsport, not regional or national championships. Thats really normal. I think hes just frustrated by the 2027 cars that are going to be at the R5's levels (performance.)
Top guys dont want to "go back" and dont want to lose the manufacturer salary they get etc etc.

I don’t 100% agree, sure the cars are a factor, but the drivers are also a factor (obviously), once Paddon, Ostberg, or even say Latvala compete for the ERC title, it makes it much more interesting imho, this is not to say the championship isn’t interesting to me, I do like (mostly) what they’ve done with it but it does have more appeal when you have more drivers with pedigree.
Only you know your true potential.

yes. tho the top guys will continue in wrc but having even more competition, which is good.
and there are loads of cool characters that we are going to love to follow in wrc from now on (i mean '27).
like when sesks came to wrc. "new cool character unlocked".
with the R5s we are going to see even more cool guys facing the current stars.
and if the 'stars' leave, we are going to get interested in these other fellas.
cant wait to see drivers like lappi, suninem, sordo, meeke, paddon, mikkelsen, ostberg, solberg, being more able to 'rent' a R5 and compete at the highest level again.
people 'dont watch erc, they watch wrc' and they will keep watching it, for sure

I dont think it is a good idea. But it will be also important how they will set the conditions for the teams. In the past, most of the island events (Azores, Canarias, Cyprus...) were paying ferry, they were helping with flight tickets, with customs. So it encouraged teams to go there as it helped significantly to reduce the costs. And this "not support" is one of the reasons for weak entry list in Ceredigion. Another advantage of Sardegna is the road condition, so when you are returning back from the race, car will be damaged and it will take more time and money to prepare it for next race...

At least it's for promoter easy way to have gravel rally in ERC. Next year it should be again 5:3 for tarmac... so maybe in 2027 it will be 4:4.
