I know very well that people are visiting (every) forum less and less. Social media based mainly on pictures and videos and only few words of text are trendy. But I must say I dont like it. I prefer forum, where all messages are readable step by step as they were posted. Social media for me is usually full of chaotic messages from everywhere...

I totally agree with you. I'm a memeber of several Facebook groups, but in the long run it doesn't work for someone who likes to read something more than just a bunch of stupid photos or silly videos.

true! dedicated forums are great because theres so much knoweledge being shared directly. but even here the erc sub is way smaller than the wrc sub. its basically 8 of us here in every topic lol (and im always late - timezones).
anyway, long live erc! best rally championship out there imo

Do you not love multiple videos of a busy Chinese subway where the ignorant person won't give up their seat for the pregnant woman with shopping bags but another person does who then fake accidentally spills water on the ignorant person and they stand up in shock and then the good Samaritan takes their seat instead and its like some sort of justice has prevailed? It's brilliant stuff.

I use a few other sports and car forums and although users have decreased they're still fairly popular. I put this down to them being more modern than this one which probably hasnt changed since it started and certainly not in my 15 years.

I'm really glad this forum is still going but it would be great if a newer version could be found where it's much easier to post pictures, videos and social media. I think this would make it a lot more attractive both to use and to bring in new members.

I think that's fighting a losing battle. Forums are obsolete, we may like them, but that's just how it is. They've been dying a slow death since 10 years, and I mean almost every forum of every topic, not just motorsport.
Even if you modernize them a bit, I don't think users on the younger side will bother signing up and stuff, they probably prefer having social medias account where they can follow all their interests in the same place, even if worse.

tbf it is possible to create a reddit sub and keep it 'private', just accepting people 'from here' or ok people that one knows from other forus. it is possible to use it like we use here, with basic topics, with rules allowing only the creation of 'next event' topics (to avoind infinite topics for each subject). and since it would be private anyway, we wouldnt have fb-insta-x freaks posting new topics all the time asking "where should i watch wrc?"
BUUUUUUUUUUUUT i'd prooobably vote for 'no' because im lazy and dont want to get sucked into more internet lol
