I've never followed the event but I understand the roads are very "straight to junction".

In the end Marczyk got the last point scoring PS position by under 0.05s (couldn't find the exact time). Pajari won by 0.085s. Difference from 1st to 4th was around 0.6s.

Marczyk was running something like 20 cars and 1,5 hour later. Which again highlights the issue with splitting the WRC2 field and "random" starting positions as decided by promoter.

Recently this splitting led to cancelling out the PS points completely in Sardinia (cause later runners couldn't start).

Here in Estonia they moved Greensmith down (wasn't nominated for driver points) and Solberg up. That turned out to be a slight disadvantage (certainly vs Marczyk), but it also could have been a big advantage if it started to rain. (The rain was only a few drops during Neuville's run). Last year Mikkelsen was put to start first because they didn't have enough remaining cars with onboard cameras and it was a massive advantage due to rain, even though it first looked like a disadvantage.

As written previously, good that FIA reduced max. WRC2 PS points from 5 to 3 since there is no simple solution with so many competitive WRC2 crews. Sounds almost like a luxury problem.

Hopefully you're right but this was what I heard from guys who have been there as competitors ans spectators and also ERC footage confirms this.

Need a big change from the current format.
