[WRC] Safari Rally Kenya 2023 (22-25 June 2023)

I admit, i have watched just few mins of anothe wrc rally on row via wrc+ - this time it was heli-shoot from Kalle going on long streight, then breaking and going another long streight. Then came other things to do and I even forgot anout this rally. This worries me bcs I have been following wrc for long and had never had so little interest.... I even have somewhere those glancy WRC magazine copies from early 2000th.... I hope Est and Fin events would rise some wrc rally passion again.

That is correct, this Safari thing was just another addition to that legend and was more about the round shape of 90-series Saabs rather than a source for Erik's nickname.

Lappi now in third and he is going for a 4th straight podium already this season.

Well, not lunatic, but he got the name from a SSS in the Swedish Midnight Sun Rally in 63´I think. he rolled his car and a famous radioreporter gave him the name from that.
The story of the mud hole was just another happening in his career.
