The problem is not the altenator as a part... the problem is the belt mechanism like the normal cars, they don't have adjustment mechanism for the belts!

Some road cars have stretch belts also, can be a bit tricky to get back on and normally you need a tool for the alternator belt, AC you can use your fingers and turn the engine to put it on.
