They have more tyre changes so no point carrying extra weight on such a fast rally

After SS2 there's a normal tyre zone with a fresh tyre set, but I heard after SS3 there's an extra extra tyre change where they can get two more fresh tyres.

Evans was superb on this stage last year too, on second pass. Surprised by the loss by Latvala and Breen

Latvala not so much. He is lucky the rally wasn't cancelled and many € thrown away like Paddon last year. Pointless risking throwing it away at this early stage. Have to consider the different mindset of being employed by a team and not costing much if you crash, compared to funding your own drive.

Oh. Didn't notice that TFZ after SS2 :/. My bad. So yep, no need to carry extra tyre for that.
So first two stages today and tomorrow will have 100% fresh tyre and 3rd one is 50% of fresh tyres.
