Østberg has brake problems and a wheel came off during a road section which then broke a wishbone.

That would be a fairly stupid mistake on their part. If routing of the fuel line is causing the fuel to boil it's would be a shame.
The Yanks call it vapor lock. Basically fuel starting to boil and dissipate. See the video below and go to 1:35 min.
