No rain expected on the nice tarmac stages of Castelo Branco. Really hoping that Ford’s and Skoda’s guys will be in a close fight with Fontes (and Vieira, if he keeps the car on the road…) for the win. Good field also in 2wd, with some new Clio’s facing the usual top contenders. Online Timing: http://cnr.cronobandeira.com/ Web site: http://escuderiacastelobranco.pt/ins.../2016/rali-cb/

Like in Argentina, the winner in this weekend Rali Castelo Branco was only known on last stage. Big fight between Fontes (DS) and Barros (Fiesta) during all rally, with Campos (Fabia) a little bit behind. Barros managed to get first after a Fontes mistake and was able to support a strong final charge from the current champ.
It’s a great and totally deserved win for Barros and his team, after a long bad luck cycle. He’s one of the most enthusiastic rally drivers in the champ and despite not being a pro, he always tries to be competitive, running in maximum attack mode.
On 2wd field, Gago did another outstanding rally with the little 208, being beaten only by Cima’s more powerful Clio. Next round will be Açores Rally in June (Portugal Rally doesn’t count for CNR).

Yep, Gago is clearly the fastest 2wd in the championship. It's a shame he's not repeating ERC Junior. Last year was his learning season, this year he could easily be between the series front drivers. Peugeot Portugal should saw it that way.
