Reducing the argument to it's most absurd - a debating technique that doesn't work. I think there are a couple of people who are blowing this out of proportion. Like the song I'm listening to says, "take a chill pill" (it's from the 80s). I happen to think that if you're going to ban tobacco advertising, then ban alcohol advertising as well. I don't think that doing either of these things would be a good idea as it wouldn't achieve anything. And, there are good reasons to ban pharmaceutical advertising, as I've enumerated above.

if it would give me money to compete on a world level, I would be happy. Why not? It's a big company, and it found the way how to help people. Don't see anything bad in it.

Well that's your choice. But, I would be very reluctant. some big pharmaceutical companies are corrupt and unethical and immoral, and I don't think they should be allowed to advertise for reasons I've stated. But if they are allowed, then, if you are okay with it, then be sponsored by them by all means.

I wouldn't object to taking their money, just to wearing their logo if there was some subliminal, Marlboro-bar-code-style logo, I wouldn't mind (so long as it was legal and I don't think it should be), but I would object to having a huge "Viagra" logo on my uniform.

Coming from the man who would happily drive with Gandalf on the side of his car lol. I see what you're saying WS dont worry and Cal is right you have to also agree with the every penny counts concept. What I wish is that the WRC could be attracting the huge companies because it should be. Thats what Morrie Chandler and the FIA want. People will pay millions just to get the tiniest sticker on an F1 car and I hope in the future you'll be able to say the same about rallying.

Yeah - that's it. You shouldn't have to have a Viagra logo - you should (ideally) be able to attract some other sponsor to whom no one would object, and who would be able to pay for everything.

Ok, I see your point, guys, but.

I'd LIKE to have Viagra logo on my suit. it's just cool. it will attract also more attention to my figure.

Plus, yeah, I'd like Gandlaf to be not on the side of my car, but inside, as a co-driver. I would win with his magic power)))

lol I see your point here too but seriously, "Viagra are my personal sponsor"?? (Or are you a woman??)

Just like how in this day and age I would like to be sponsored by tobacco. It would be edgy, it would be fringe, it would provoke a lot of talk.

Exactly. It's just a PR. If Loeb advertises PS2, it doesn't meen he plays it every day.
If I advertise (not me, but my suit or car) Viagra, it doesn't meen I'm a wrong man. They give me money and get AD. I get they money and compete in a rally. In biology it's called symbiosis.
You think why people like Soth Park, for example, or Simpsons? Because those cartoons have brilliant graphics or humour? No. because they're not afraid of laughing at themselves, at people.
Wearing a Viagra-sponsored suit would be just fun for me, cool. Advertising alchohol on my car is not a problem for me. it's good for holidays and I like to drink some cognac or martini on big holidays like birthdays or smth like this. But I'm a smart person and understand it's dangerous to drink it before driving. And I will never do it, though I can be their sponsor.
Advertising tobacco? No problem for me. Have you seen the lates comedy "thank you for smokin!"? if you haven't - go and watch. It raises the same plot. There you're just doing your work. But in your mind you can be against it and never use. If you're a clever person, you'll make a right choice, believe me. AD influences only on people who don't have their own mind.

I still think Viagra is the wrong image for the WRC. It implies that the bulk of fans are old impotent men. If Viagra became title sponsor of the the whole WRC, I wouldn't stop being interested, but I wouldn't become a fan if I wasn't already because the association is embarrassing.

I didn't mean I'd seek out tobacco money, but if it was offered I'd not say no.
