European Rally Championship 2007
I think that we should also start a thread like this.
What do you think about next year? Is anybody interested in competing in this championship or IRC will take all entries away?
There are strong rumours here in Greece, that the Elpa Rally is returning to Halkidiki and is going to be gravel event again or mixed surface event! What are your thoughts about that?

To be honest I think it will be better only gravel! The gravel stages are just great!
I have some doubts about mixed! It is not about the tarmac stages because there are some very good ones, but as about cost! It should be very expensive!

It would be good to have the Elpa Rally back on gravel in Halkidiki - a bit of variety in the championship should be good. It might not attract any regular S1600 ERC contenders (if there are going to be any such people next year) but it would be a great opportunity for other drivers to compete on excellent gravel stages cheaper than would be possible in the WRC.

Next year there will be new version of European Championship. Who would like to take points, he must register to this series. So only registered drivers can take points, not "local matadors".

What?
So now every 50-year old gentleman driver, who usually finishes in 27th position, can be the European Rally Champion? Great! :/

Will the WRC cars be allowed to take part to the new ERC ??
In France there's a strange rumour that young lady driver Céline Pratlong would take part to the championship with a...206 WRC !!!
She would have already tested it last week...
Yesterday Chris Ingram posted he was doing a 'shakedown' of the Polo R5 so it seems he's continuing in that car for the Jim Clark. I don't know if its because the 2nd Yaris hasn't arrived yet at...
British & Irish Championships...
