Some fans will believe what they PREFER to believe, logic can't enter a closed mind ...
if Teresa Earnhardt sabotaged Dale Jr's quest for the Chase it would actually hurt DEI ...
if Dale Jr succeeded, DEI looked good to potential sponsors, otherwise a sponsor could look elsewhere ...
with Dale Jr's 5 engine failures DEI looks like it has a problem, not a good image to a potential sponsor ...

I just can't believe Teresa would sabotage Dale Jr's engines, it makes no sense to me !

Jooyner used the old Engines instead of the newer ones, maybe something was wrong with those engines.

and those were all DEI engines BTW, the RCR-DEI engines won't be out until next year.

but Jooyner did wimp out and say halfway into the season, he was leaving for Hendrick, with Jooyner sayin how his equipment sucks and the team doesn't encourage him, maybe it was the engineers that were pissed at Jooyner,

I don't think Teresa knows how to build a stockcar engine, so how can the blame be on her

    That is like saying:

Harvick can't drive so how can the blame be on him when he spins someone out.

    flawed point system

That's because the point system punishes a dnf more than it rewards winning and running up front. More often than not Jr. has run in front of Harvick, but has 6 dnf's to Harvick's 0.

exhibit A is Terry Labonte's 1996 championship season. He and Jeff Gordon both had 21 top 5's and 24 top 10's in 31 races, but Jeff had 10 wins to Terry Labonte's 2. The difference was the dnf's. Jeff had 5 and Terry had 3.

Don't get me wrong, they race to the rules and points that are in place and Terry had a great year and ran up front, but when push came to shove, Jeff won the races and Terry settled for top 5's. Jeff's dnf's punished him more than he was rewarded for winning and that does not seem right to me somehow.

well the goal in racing is to finish, Jr. has failed to do so 6 times, consistency wins over (win or DNF)

2003 is a prime example, Kenseth won 1 race and the Winston Cup Championship, Newman had what 8 wins, but had about the same DNF's.

if you want a win to determine a championship, go watch F1

Do you think Terry Labonte was the better driver in 1996, than Jeff Gordon?
