I don't understand what's the problem some here have with the rally being in Sardinia.
Never stop dreaming because one day it might happen.

It's a nice event, at a nice time of the year, nice scenery, etc

But, it's yet another dry, dusty gravel event after Mexico, Argentina, Portugal, etc..... there's far too many similar events - and back to back.

Is there a better sound than that of Porsche engined Flat-6 ???

Would it still be possible to have a WRC gravel rally in Tuscany/ Italy in late September/ early October?

From pure interest in rallying, Tuscany makes the most amount of sense to me.

From a heritage standpoint San Remo makes the most amount of sense...

Neither of them are probably feasible since italy is forever drowned in the shit Marsh that is F1 (if we ignore even more shitty league football for a second).

I think replacing Italy would be good for the sport. Right now there are Monte, Portugal, Sardinia, Corsica and Catalunya around the Mediterranean, and this is a world championship series. Five events out of ten European rounds around that sea would be too much for even European championship.

And Finland, Sweden, Poland and Germany are on the coast of Baltic Sea.

Main public interest for rallying is in Europe, so that is why it's so mush centred here. You can have a WRC event in Mongolia, but who would care?
