There are two sites that are professional in providing results during ERC/WRC rallies, rally base and eWRC.
they have chosen to name the RRC cars differently. Rally base do not differ btw a RRC and a S2000 Fiesta. The cars are quite different, and they should be that also online. We know that officially they are all seen as S2000 cars, all RRC and all S2000. We have RRC cars from Ford, Mini and Citroen, all with a WRC light config. Quite a different animal than a S2000. Many drivers like the inbuildt toughness in the RRC, and chooses that cartype over both S2000 and R5.
What is the reason for why the two sites chooses to name differently?

That both sites have nothing common?
I know it's confusing but all RRC cars are homologated as S2000. The most correct naming shall be Super 2000 1.6T no matter how strange it looks because that is what is written in homologation papers.
RRC is custom name used first by Prodrive or M-Sport for marketing reasons which just happen to get used by people for all 1.6T S2000 cars.Stupid is as stupid does. Forrest Gump

Prodrive called their 1.6T S2000 Mini 'SPC' standing for Super Production Car - which is absolute bollocks

It is very simple - according to regulations, there is no RRC. This name doesnt exist, it is only product name of M-Sport. Officially it is S2000 with 1,6T engine. Thats why Rally-base has all the time written S2000.
It is also problem to recognize on some events if the car is S2000 or RRC version only from start list.
