Spam Bots
WTF is up with all the spam bots lately?

Re: Spam Bots
Don't get this game.
I think Mark said, since the change of forum, the security has been lost and so spammers are harder to prevent.
Could be wrong.I still exist and still find the forum occasionally. Busy busy

Re: Spam Bots
Yes kind of. I'll be implementing new measures next week. Can't at the moment as I'm away with very slow net access.
The main issue at the moment is you can tell who is a spammer. Although 99 of 100 registrations are spammers it's a safe bet they all are. But what about that 1 person of the 100 who really does want to discuss Motorsport?!Please 'like' our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/motorsportforums

Re: Spam Bots
would it make any difference to add some restrictions to new members?
minimum 10 posts and 2 weeks membership before they can start a new thread?
New members can still post replies which won't lock them out from the discussion,
Or will the spam bots just circumvent this?...Funny how ev'rything was roses when we held on to the guns...

Re: Spam Bots
Yer, at least if its individual posts then mods can maybe just erase posts rather than sorting through Spam threads.

I've changed things back to allow new users to register, however they will be checked against the StopForumSpam database first.

It sounds to me like if Ford had provided more money for developing the Puma then M-Sport might've had the chance to keep Fourmaux. Also Malcolm Wilson will pay a top driver (Ogier, Tanak) and...
