SeatFreak, only one or two bad mildly bad results? Even his biggest supporters will tell you that 11 pts in 17 games is quite bad. Of course the players who did wonders last season are not doing enough this time which doesn't help

Alan Curbishley is indeed the new manager..I think he did reasonably well at Charlton considering the money they had so lets see if he can turn around the Hammers this season.

Trust me I can trump the 11 in 17 with no bother at all.

Have a guess at which team from the 05-06 season in their first 17 (which began ironically in more than one way at home to Chartlon and ended away to Charlton), got a grand total of 5 points?

*The five points in the first 17 coming in a win over Middlesbrough (the winner scored by a player now at Boro), and home draws against WBA and ironically West Ham.

    * And also that team got 0 points from an available 12 in both August and November, got 4 from an available 9 in September, got 1 from an available 13 in October and got no points in the final 2 games of the 17 at the start of December.

    Have a guess which team?

Remember when Mick McCarthy was sacked? It wasn't till March that he was sacked because caretaker manager Kevin Ball did the final 10 games whic counting 10 games from Aston Villa (A) on the final day takes you to Bolton (A) on March 18.

Whereas Mick McCarthy's tenure can be best remembered for losing to Brentford in the FA Cup, Bally's tenure can best be remembered for going to Old Trafford and frustrating 50k+ fans with a 0-0 draw. OK, we got relegated, but this fan knew on Matchday 1 of the 05-06 season it was a case of when and not if we got relegated. That is how different Ball was to McCarthy.

Plase, don't anyone tell me Alan Pardew deserved to go any sooner than Mick McCarthy because the form of West Ham this season can be compared to the form of Sunderland last season.

Newcastle added a 15th player to the injury list, Charles N'Zogbia joins the likes of Owen and Moore on the medical table.

Is it time to feel sorry for Newcastle a bit? :

    CL draw today at 12:00...

Group winners (Pot 1): AC Milan, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, Lyon, Manchester United & Valencia.

Group runners-up (Pot 2): Barcelona, Celtic, Inter Milan, Lille, Porto, PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid & Roma.

Can't wait to see who from pot1 will play Barca, I also hope Chelsea will play Roma or Real Madrid :

I would like to see Barcelona kick Milan's butt (just for fun and so that they dont win this CL as they dont deserve to be in it. Sneaked into CL via appeal and a reduced points deficit in Serie A too :\ )

or Barcelona kicking Man Utd out could be fun too
