    soccer on speed?

Just a few questions I would like some input on all fans from no matter what your favorite type of racing is. I am sure we are all aware of the fact speed is showing soccer this morning instead of their usual lineup of reruns. Is this a sign of things too come? Are we going to see more of this on speed? Do you welcome this or not? Finally is this a sign of just how far in popularity racing (nascar in particular since it is the main subject of the channel) has fallen? If NASCAR can no longer pay the bills the entire sport in this country when it comes to tv might be in big trouble.

I think it's just like when the Olympics is showing events on networks that never show sports. There is so much going on at the same time. The network (in this case Fox networks which also own Speed) was showing soccer because it was the final day of the EPL season and all games by rule start at exactly the same time on this important day. There were EPL games also on FSN, FX, Speed, and Fox Soccer (of course). ESPN2 (not owned by Fox) also had the Man City-QPR game.

It's just this particular day, not a sign of things to come.

    Well... the morons do.

    Football Federation Australia Home
    It's... Football Federation Australia

Sport News: NRL, Super 15, Cricket, A-League, Wallabies, Socceroos
On Fairfax websites the relevant sport section is Football.

But only in some News Ltd newspapers like Melbourne's Herald-Sun or Sydney's Daily Telegraph it's soccer, but it's usually the illiterate newspapers:

So in that case, since the official nickname of your national team is the Socceroos, are you saying they were named by morons or that they are morons?

    Yes... and yes

Why the official nickname of the national team is still the Socceroos despite an official change of name by the governing body is totally beyond me. It's also worth noting that the chap who came up with the nickname was the journalist Tony Horstead who at the time was working for the The Daily Telegraph which was/still is a moronic newspaper.

This from a nation whose highest selling beer is named incorrectly. "Victoria Bitter" is actually a lager; a not very good one other.

    It wasn't always that way.

I played a five-a-side game two weeks ago and I'm still broken.
