Petter needs a higher 6th gear ! almost 10 km/h topspeed difference is a lot, when they are maxing out for longer periods.

Is it so that the Peugeot has a different kind of gearbox than Skoda and Ford? If so, could that be the reason for the difference in top speed? Not just the difference in choosing a gearbox with high vs. low gearing? I suspect that the Peugeot with high gearing would loose a lot to the Skoda in the twisty sections we saw yesterday, where Petter was the quickest driver in both passings.

Actually I misread the times. mypremium.tv will still have both telecasts at 12:15 (Eurosport 2) and 16:00 (Eurosport 1), though the site is being a little dodgy at the moment...

Exactly, if you put longer gears on to achieve higher top speed then you will lose some in acceleration. I believe the Skoda can run higher top speeds without sacrificing too much acceleration because it has a very torquey engine.
