Is the 2012 update mandatory or optional?

What does it mean in practical terms that Peugeot Sport has stopped support for all 207 models?
no new parts homologated or what?

I don't know if they still develop something (I doubt so) but what I meant in that other topic is that Peugeot Sport stopped support to any 207-related activities. That means while two years a go there were plenty of Peugeot Sport/importer backed teams, now they are none. They do support only 208 R2 now and later they will support 208 R5.
