Milwaukee DOA?
The latest from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
"Employees of the Milwaukee Mile have been laid off and the office closed, at least for the moment, promoter Claude Napier told the Journal Sentinel's Don Walker on Thursday.
Napier said he met his most recent payroll for troubled Wisconsin Motorsports. He admitted for the first time to the Journal Sentinel that he has no investors in the business but said he is looking for help.
The track owes an undisclosed amount of money to the Indy Racing League for its race weekend in May and nearly $1.9 million to NASCAR for its doubleheader for the Camping World Truck Series and Nationwide Series.
Brothers Dominic and Frank Giuffre, former promoters at the facility at State Fair Park, have made a pitch to the park board to return."
We may have all seen our last race at the Mile.
