Who did the commentary for the BBC on Thurs?

And in particular who is the bloke writing the Williams book?

That would be Maurice Hamilton, ably assisted by Ian Phillips of Force India, at least in session 2. I haven't been following session 1 all year, but I believe it's usually David Croft and Anthony Davidson in that one (as in Saturday's session).

Yep, it's always been Croft and Davidson in P1 when I've watched it.

No, on BBC Sports Xtra, online and the 'red button' Maurice Hamilton and Ian Phillips do the Friday P1 and P2 sessions (albeit Thursday this week obviously) Then David Croft and Anthony Davidson take over for P3, qualifying and the race.

Certainly was Croft and Davidson for P1 on Thursday and then Hamilton and Phillips for P2, and pretty sure it has been this way for all other Friday's I have watched (via Red Button).

Davidson is such a good asset to the Beebs commentary team-even if it is only in practice sessions. He's got that array of knowledge etc and he's just enjoyable and interesting to listen to-as well as being imformative. so maybe Davidson not having a seat isnt so bad-he can give us great insight and analysis!
Congratulations Sebastian Vettel. Champion of the season of seasons.

I agree. He is an outstanding broadcaster — one of the best expert analysts to be heard on any sports coverage.

He would've been outstanding if he didn't interrupt his flow all the time with "errr, errrr ...err,err ....err errr".

And he's no rookie either, he's been commentating a good few years

They should use Ant for the TV red button after the race.
