    Re: Czech rally news

Thanks, quite good driving. Looks like a well setup car with nicely suited gear ratios too for such a fast stage, although I didn't hear any antilag?

Very impressive to be so fast in a Legacy, although I imagine road position helped a little. I rallied one a few years ago and they are a heavy car, but if it is newly built I guess you can take a lot of weight out and a strong cage will help make up for the chassis somewhat. Do you still have to run the factory intercooler on it?

In NZ we are quite lucky in that cars are largely limited only by a minimum weight and 36mm restrictor, so we run E85 and have some quite powerful cars that are able to be built up in a small workshop, not restricted so much by rules. We even have a few custom cars like a turbo 4WD Suzuki Swift. So you can potentially win rallies in an older car as long as the money is spent right and you have a talented enough driver. Although there is some rules to restrict you from running a modern WRC car at least.

Frankly I don't know the historic rules so closely to give You exact answer.

About road position - this was first event in CZ where historics were running first before the modern cars (it is like that in Rally Šumava which is held together with Historic ERC Rallye Vltava but there both fields have different supplementary regulations and their own zero cars). It was raining and some mud was on the roads so it might help guys from historic cars, yes.

    Re: Czech rally news

    Some news for 2014:

    International championship
    - 7 events (same as this year but P?íbram may be replaced by Valašská rally)
    - FIA ERC tyres mandatory BUT cutting allowed - also in Barum rally and all EC events which means that there will be two sets of sporting stewards - one for FIA event, one for MM?R and results may be separated at the end. I don't like that personally but I understand the reasons.

    Sprint championship
    - reduced to 7 events (calendar not yet)
    - FIA 2012-2014 tyres allowed including cutting

In both championships classes R1 and R2 will get separate classification to boost them.

Entry list for Rally P?íbram: http://www.rally-pribram.cz/2013_startovni_cisla.html

Five parts - MM?R, Historics, Cup, DRS and Legend (no times measured). DRS is disappointing for me

Here You can see his onboard from another event (quite extremely fast stage): http://www.mediasport.cz/jezdci---rally ... /5087.html[/quote]

My kind of stage, you need balls to go almost 80% time flat out....and what an engine note !! Flat engine+turbo= orgasmic

Thanks for the footage, always good to see how other parts of the world do things. Are all the Czech roads use for rally bumpy like these?
