Adam set to race Leon TDI

    http://www.btccpages.com/news/NewsSt...ArticleID=1187

Jonathan Adam looks set to move up to the BTCC racing a SEAT Leon TDI, providing he can find the addional sponsorship required to run the car. He's testing the car on Monday at Silverstone.
2nd place in the big quizz challenge!

The full article on Knockhill.com said moving up with Total Control Racing. TCR are a great team and previous BTCC Independents' champions in their previous guise of Brookes Motorsport. I really hope Jonathan Adam can make the step up, I'm sure he'd make a very good touring car driver.

I hope Martin Byford and Rob Lawson are also able to step up to touring cars at some point, both of them deserve a shot at it.

Will anyone genuinely want that car? Personally I'd choose a petrol Leon over the TDi.

Considering the performance of the TDi it would be a gamble worth taking. It had its reliability problems but the car was very dominant in the second half of the year.

I agree, and was a bit surprised to hear that GR had all but ruled out using the TDi for that very reason.

about time as well, I know he was looking at a Seat of some description but personally I would favour the petrol but the diesel has been reliable in WTCC but then again Northern South arent involved with that

hope he can get some sponsorship to get out there

Sorry to disappoint but as far as I'm aware there will be no customer spec Leon TDI's racing anywhere, the diesel engines were and still are for official works run cars only !

The test at Silverstone tomorrow is to reward the drivers that have took wins in the SCC. I think there are four different drivers testing the TDI...
