    Rally HOF

Does anybody know if there is a Rallying Hall of Fame?

I tried to search on google, but could not find anything. Let me know if you have any hints.

    Question Late 1960's car classification

Putting together historical piece on Porsche 911 wins at the Monte in the late 60's.

Question:Can someone confirm that the Group1/2/3 clasifications used on the 1969 edition were the same used in later years, until the coming of Group A and B?

It appears as if the first year for Group 4 on the Monte was 1970.

    Thanks,

    Tannat

The titles (numbers) of the categories was the same from 1.1.66. to 31.12.81. but the detail varied considerably over the years. The "modifications freely permitted" in each group (quite separate from homologated "options" and "production alternatives") changed frequently. So the actual detailed regulations were not always the same year to year within each group. Gp2 (where the 911L was homologated) was probably affected by changes more than the others.

I would have thought a Gp2 911L was more potent than a Gp3 911S and much the same as a Gp4 911S, with only the 911T arriving in Gp4 with different heads providing much more performance?

All the major events would normally have had Gps1-4 categories. The Monte was run to a handicap system of some sort for many years later than many may now think it was and it may be that the Gp4 category was handicapped in some years so severely that few entered it. I would be surprised if there was no such category at all any year but maybe that was so.

(if pre-68 911s had been as consistently quick in period as they are now in British historic rallying, the entire history of the sport would have been very different.....)

Wow-think I'll avoid this issue in the writing.

Hi, i'm new here and trying to get some missing info to my auto-sports DB.

Regarding the '53 ERC, can somebody tell me the 'scoring' rules?
And Some missing names and countrys...

and some contribution: somewhere in a previous post i read, for the '53 Sestriere:
    1st Gert Seibert/A.Holz
IMO there is a typo and should be:
1st Gert Seibert/Alfred Bolz (Bolz was the regular co-driver and appears in some 53 sestriere standings)
