That's not going to cause much confusion with GP2 then? Crazy.

The interesting point here is the one stating 'to launch in 2009'...
...what exactly is meant by 'launch' here?
To formally announce the series or to have it up and running??
Presuming a normal single seater season runs from say, March - October, no way will you get through the chassis and engine and tyre tender process, test and development, getting teams/drivers signed up. circuits signed up, all in time.
I imagine this is merely another twist in the ongoing FIA/FOM battle between Mosely/Ecclestone.
Seems utterly pointless when GP2 is going so strong and is no so well held in regard amongst the motorsport community.
GP2 isnt an official FIA series even though they go process the races as it were in terms of race control and all the stuff Charlie Whiting monitos etc but there were talks a few seasons back to make this happen.
I think the budgets being quoted for this level of 200,000 are laughable for a 'F2' level series considering a season in FBMW Europe will easily cost 150,000.
Lets see what happens
I would imagine that on top of Dallara, Lola, Mygale, Panoz etc and the usual suspects who may be expected to tender for chassis deals, that Epsilom Euskadi would be interested as Joan Villedeprat recently said in an Autosport interview that he would be interesting in pitching for the next tender of GP2 business -
Personally I think(hope) this will fizzle out yet like others have said, it could make sense to rebrand GP2 as F2 - Lets see2006 GO!

I think that European FBMW with a good team probably costs more than 200k Euro.

For those who wanted Max to stay....
I told you so!
Hope you like the fact that Max is running F1 into the ground. GP2 is a good series and now Max wants to cannibalize it with some ridiculous series by the name of Formula 2. The fight at the top is going to be nothing but agonizing politics for the next few months. Now we have the choice between a greedy little troll and a sadomasochistic nut bag.
Oh yeah, for €200,000 I guess this is what F2 is going to run:

Formula 2 died and was resurrected as International F3000, that became GP2 that will probally become Formula 2. Hey presto full circle.

Hi, anyone have experience with this route https://mapy.cz/s/bedudugeme from Oschiri to Monte Lerno stage - hairpin on 17km from start? If it´s doable by normal car? Thanks.
