Rally America: OLYMPUS RALLY MOVES TO EASTERN WASHINGTON FOR 2008

OLYMPUS RALLY MOVES TO EASTERN WASHINGTON FOR 2008

MINNEAPOLIS, March 19, 2008 – The Olympus Rally, round three of the Rally America National Championship, will move from its traditional location near Olympia, Wash., 300 miles east to Pomeroy, Wash., for 2008.

“When we learned that the roads in the Olympia region were unavailable for our use this year, we were obviously disappointed,” said Steve McQuaid, chairman of the Olympus Rally. “However, instead of cancelling the rally, we chose to move it to Pomeroy, where we held a very successful event last year.”

In September 2007, Pomeroy played host to the Wild West Rally, the penultimate round of the Rally America Northwest Regional Championship. Utilizing many of the same stages, the Olympus Rally will feature fast, smooth roads that cross wheat and barley fields before dropping into gullies that drain into the Snake River.

Not a whole ton going on down south in terms of the national scene.

I don't know what part of the fall you will be in Tucson for but if its October, perhaps check out the Prescott Rally? http://www.prescottrally.com/

The scene isn't anything like it is in Europe, or some other regions, but it is decent, we have interesting roads, some pretty good drivers/teams, and lot of really passionate people.
