English highlights edits on there - probably what would have been on Motors.
An Opel Kadett with 2.4 engine. Giving the limited experience of my driver (only his 5th Rally) I think the result was very good. Some very good stage times with faster cars behind us in the morning (when it was still a bit wet). When it dried out we lost some places, but overall very happy with the rally :)
Opel! I like Opels! I kept that last Opels competing in USA/Canada going some years back...We got Kadett A which mercifully nobody bother with and then Ascona and Manta A with the CIH 1900...And one friend bought what i believe is the only Ascona B in America which was brought over for Olympus WRC and then stayed here..Built a good motor for that one in 1987 and last year re-did the bottom end with new even longer rods and much shorter and very light pistons, then made him a couple of steel flywheels....that one is 1965cc and then next one will be 2020cc-----if the guy ever pays his bill..
What can you tell me about how that one got to be 2,4? Normal iron head? What clutch? What gearbox? I want to see photos!
I love Opel too. Built two Ascona B which I rallied in late 80īs and 90īs. ANTE Malmgren built the engines, 2,0 with 48 Weber. The 2,4 litre I believe is a bored 2,2 litre engine which was in the model Opel Rekord. Or else itīs the 16V which was in 400. I donīt know ...
Very nice entry list for the 2nd round of the Belgian Championship this weekend.
Cherain (DS3 RRC): my favorite for the victory
Princen (Fabia R5): won first round and can challenge Cherain
Verschueren (Fabia R5): 2nd in first round
Abbring (208 R5): 3th in first round but here the car is less important than in Haspengouw.
Dilley (Fabia R5): First time with Fabia, but top 5 is possible
Demaerschalk (DS3 R5): Talented but not much experience in an R5. And it's a DS3...
Allart (Fabia R5): crashed in Haspengouw
Debackere (Fabia R5)
De Cecco (208 R5): Could be around 5th by the end of the Rally.
Lim (I20 R5): Curious to see what he will achieve
Fumal (DS3 R5)
Maeyaert (Fiesta R5): New car for last year Historic champion. Only tested the car last weekend in a Rallysprint. He wasn't slow but there is still a lot of progress possible.
Fernémont (Fiesta R5): competitor for De Cecco, Debackere etc
Kenis (Mini RRC):
Albert (Fabia WRC): only WRC at the start. Can maybe finish somewhere around 5th.
Also 4 Porsches at the start (Snijers, Duez, Bouvy, Claerhout) and a lot of fast FWD cars:

2x2 stages on Friday, mostly on and around the Spa Francorchamps Circuit. 3x4 stages on Saturday.
