Od course it's a good move. He will finally start making some real money.

It would be funny if Sesks would take his seat now in M-Sport and straight away win an event in this season and Adrien wouldn't in Hyundai achieve that.
Money wise great deal, but driver status not so much. He also stated that he could be back in a few years. I don't know if that will be the option (since he blame everything on the car for the last few events), and especially if he will do really bad at Hyundai, which is very likely.
I hope the move works out for Fourmaux as it was an offer he couldnt refuse. But if it doesn't he will be welcome back at M-Sport any time.
It's a tough one for M-Sport but they might at least get some kick-back from the deal after developing him. If so it could help fund the next young driver.
I think we all wish Fourmaux a very good season 2025. He has made a dream come true. Let´s enjoy it together.
I'm very happy for him but alspo sad about Lappi, i hope he finds smg for next year.
Shame, I hoped for a strong driver at M-Sport... there are others with potential of course, but Fourmaux would have been proven fast and with one full good year already with the Puma. Good for him, though. Now he needs a consistent season at Hyundai.
if msport shows up with sesks on the 11LV car and oli on the monster car, that'd be a really good 2025
yes, its because hes in UFC now
https://speed.dhpplant.com/ufc-elfyn...-to-ufc-bonie/
lol saw this website few days ago. 99% of their WRC stuff is crazy clickbait about Neuville and Evans (only those 2, other drivers aren't interesting?) like "here's the obvious proof Neuville cheated to win the title" or "Evans becomes a UFC fighter" :D
I wish forum member NOT was around to call the writer "village subhuman sick dog" or something similar.
He will be the third driver on pace anyway. But of course it will take the spotlight off him and his season will probably be judged different even if he drives as well as this year because Neuville and Tänak are out of his reach.
It's always the same, strong teammates make one look worse than he is and vice versa.
It's all the other Rally1 drivers he'll be competing with and compared to. And he wont want to look slow, even though he's told by Hyundai to just finish in the points for the team.
A 3rd driver is better being an experienced guy on his way down than an ambitious youngster.
He was not a rally winner yet anyway; max 1 overnight lead after stadium in Japan - most of his podiums came on expense of mistakes of faster drivers. 1 season behind or in the mix with Tanak and Neuville will be a good learning curve - he will learn what does it take to win and then win again and again. Plus he gets paid; plus 3rd driver must finish, thus pressure will be on consistancy, not the end speed. In a sense - less pressure. As they say - you can teach a fast driver to drive consistant, but can not get slow driver to drive fast. In this level "slow" is relative, but noticable value.
It's more or less the fact, if he will try to beat the god there, he will be destroyed, as many before. 🤣
That Hyundai team is one and done very clearly. Even if they continue after 2025, there is no way their line up can remain the same.
Here we go….
HYUNDAI TO DELAY 2025 WRC CAR DEBUT UNTIL AFTER MONTE CARLO
https://www.motorsport.com/wrc/news/...arlo/10679678/
Well they did win with the current car in Monte-Carlo this year, perhaps they prefer waiting for the next events when the conditions aren't as mixed so they'll have a better understanding of what they got right and what they got wrong, just a theory of course. The only good news to come from Hyundai at this point would be them commiting (& actually keeping that promise) until 2030, but with all the uncertainty regarding the WRC moving forwards, even if up until now they would be as sturdy as a rock, I wouldn't blame them for having second thoughts about staying in the championship.
I wonder what car will they use as base model if they actually decide to stay at the end.
All the Rally1 Cars will be quite different for Monte-Carlo anyway, with the hybrid removed, new weight limit, smaller restrictor and some aero changes.
FIA World Rally Championship
An evolution of the points-scoring system introduced at the start of the 2024 season has been voted for 2025 following a year of evaluation and review.
For each Championship or Cup title, points will be awarded based on the general classification of each rally using the following scale: 25 / 17 / 15 / 12 / 10 / 8 / 6 / 4 / 2 / 1 for positions 1st to 10th.
In the FIA World Rally Championships for Manufacturers, Drivers, and Co-Drivers, additional points (five for first place down to one for fifth) will be granted based on an accumulated general classification from Sunday only. This includes the section from the first time control after the overnight regroup to the final time control of the competition element, accounting for all time penalties accrued during this segment. Power Stage points (5 to 1) will also continue to be awarded, as is currently the case.
The revised format brings simplification by removing Saturday points, reduces the chances of a rally winner scoring fewer points than the second-placed competitor, and continue to enhance Sunday’s excitement and competitiveness. The "Super Sunday" format will maintain its role as a critical competition day, while the Power Stage remains a key element for broadcasters and fans alike.
On the side of promotion, media or VIP passenger rides in the third shakedown pass will now be offered on the basis of one P1 car per manufacturer in order to reduce the obligation on the teams to make all cars available, while maintaining exposure opportunities for WRC Promoter, the teams and organisers with rides available for high-value passengers.
To create new features within manufacturer teams and enhance storytelling, a competing crew performing service on the car during the competition will now be able to get physical assistance by another P1 crew entered under the same competitor license and nominated to score points
Furthermore, as part of the regulations updates implemented around the future introduction of a “command centre”, the transmission of data between a team and a competing vehicle or communication to/from the crew will be enabled if performed through WRC Promoter for non-sporting purposes, and controlled and administered by the FIA.
Regarding environmental management, the sporting regulations have been updated to include the objectives of the FIA's approved environmental strategy for the upcoming season and amended with the appropriate terminology.
So it is still possibly to get more points than rally winner 25 vs 17+5+5=27.
Although 1st vs 2nd place difference went bigger by 1p. +-8p is pretty big gap..
It is better tough then last year's system
It sounds good to me.
Yesssssss! they did what I have said since the beginning of the year. Bring back the old system and keep super Sunday.
Amazing. Im satisfied
better. good move.
it still bothers me P2 can outscore the winner by 2 points but eh, i dont think we are going to see that (?)
So it seems that teammate could help fixing the car. Wonder if they could swap some parts, if those who would be figthting for win or title could get some help from them.
I still don't understand why the gap from 3rd to 4th is 3 points when all of the other gaps (apart from 1st to 2nd) is 2 points. It would make more sense to me if it was 14 points for 3rd - 3 points behind 2nd & 2 points ahead of 4th like all of the lower placing gaps.
Standard 25-18-15-12-etc. makes 3 points gap starting from podium positions so it was sensible as there was gap upgrade starting for podium positions and additional gap upgrade for winner. Maybe they just changed 18 to 17 to reduce chances for winner not getting maximum points but if that is the case, they half-assed it. Evans would still beat winner Lappi in points in Sweden if 2025 system would be used in 2024.
Would prefer simple 6-5-4-3-2-1 for super sunday without power stage points. More simple and I am sure in vast majority of rallies there will be enough close battles on last stage to avoid borefest.
