Hyundai's are running a "test" rally in Spain.
Neuville is trying 2025 version without Hybrid, while Mikkelsen is driving 2024 with Hybrid.
...Neuville is 11 seconds ahead of Mikkelsen after a few quite short stages.
...These stages are mostly on wide tarmac, lot of hairpins in the hills.. Mikkelsen is just very slow or the hybrid really doesn't matter too much.. Missing hybrid is probably sometimes just an excuse for the drivers not being competitive with the TOP guys.

Does Neuville run ballast or not, though? If he has a lighter car with a better power to weight ratio and possibly improved weight distribution,it makes sense to be faster.
I would guess he runs without ballast. If the remove the MGU and add ballast in 25 it would be ridiculous.Quote:

Abiteboul hasn't ruled out seeing Mikkelsen in the Hyundai colours next season.
If they dont run a 4th Rally1 car, maybe they could put him in the Step2 newly-developed version of the i20 Rally2.
Maybe at the end Adrien is still having conversations with current employer and just maybe he didn't sign anything yet. Then Hyundai will not having other options than having Mikkelsen onboard. If they are looking at someone to tame on tarmac events, where problem really lies, they should go for Gryazin, as he was excellent this year on that surface.Quote:

the recent suggestiong 2027 cars will be on the same rally2 levels AND OPEN to any type of engine is already giving me some liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle hope to see Hyundai having this fella trying to clinch a world title.
