Guys, do you think this driver would be good enough to compete in JERC? I think that after watching this video the CEO of FIAT should offer him a factory seat :)

I have been thinking a little bit and find out the ERC in 2016 returned into the look from days before merging with IRC. Anything from old good IRC didn´t remain, which is sad, because I thought the potential was/is bigger. Do you remember the days when Quesnel wanted to use his red army against green army of Skoda? Or Monte Carlo 2011? And now we have got few spectacular drivers like Consani, but Peugeot and Skoda etc. choose WRC2. Neither I nor Pluto understand it (because medial coverage of WRC2 is awful) but they did so. And there has to be some racional reason. Whatever it is, Eurosport is responsible for that.
Yes, it doesn't look good for the new year.
But to be honest, I have no idea why so many drivers want to drive in WRC2. How is it possible to be a sportsman and want to compete for the14th or 17th position?
Because they all fancy themselves as a WRC champion, however unreasonably.
Same reason so many young circuit racers pay fortunes for GP2 and GP3 rather than get paid for big sportscar races.
In one way, it's good; the talent is concentrated and we'll get a proper 'world' championship. The shame is the damage that could be done to the wider sport and the prestige of classic events.
Also, fewer events in the championship and manufacturers subsidising events might make it cheaper, as might your seven events being in western Europe.
Link, please.
Yesterday in a radioshow about rally in Sweden, they told a rumor that Emil Bergkvist have secured a big deal from both Pirelli and Eurosport for 2016-season. Looks that there are something going on....
Change date for Rally Cyprus - new date is 07.-09.10. Full calendar is here: http://www.autosport.cz/clanek.php?cl=17704
I think yes. In this years first rally (Alūksne, winter) Ralfs make a debut with 4wd car (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX RX and this is his only one rally with 4WD car)
And he wins this rally...He overtake Latvian rally legends like Jānis Vorobjovs and Andis Neikšāns..

Raimonds Kisiels (LAT) is going to join ERC for at least five rounds - http://www.eurosport.co.uk/erc/kisie...78/story.shtml
Łukasz Pieniążek (PL) a Domink Brož (CZ) shall be new JERC drivers.
OK, wrong word. I meant newly announced ;) Anyway he switches to Opel.

Acc. to Facebook, there could come more...
According to his previous posts, he finished with Peugeot UK...
Kajto website:
"I see that much of you interested in what we do in the season 2016. This is understandable and cool at the same time, as well as motivating. Thank you for your interest, but I ask you to be patient - together with our partners are working hard on the program for the season 2016... "
Chris Ingram Rallying today-
The 2016 plan is coming together perfectly! So excited to begin.
The ERC season begins next month, would love to be back for a title fight !
Such a shame seeing so few drivers interested in ERC while so many are in WRC2, especially when I consider ERC a more interesting championship. Who do we have confirmed for 2016? In RC2 I've heard of Consani and Lukyanuk, maybe Kajto, and then?
From CZ Tarabus, Tlusťák (not really interesting driver), Jakeš is also possible and some events maybe also Odložilík (Latvia and Barum at least). Hudec might do something too but I don't know. Štajf with gr.N car and hopefully Kopáček in one or two events too.
Botka from Hungary switched to DS3 R5. He will do ERC.
Off course WRC2 is much better than the ERC...... it is the world championship. It is better to be fouth or fifth in the WRC2 than to be first in the ERC
It's also level 2 of the world championship and the media, even in the local country, cares not one iota. At the very least, winning the more prestigious ERC events gets far more recognition and coverage, even if just locally.
However, seems many of the drivers who want to get to the higher echelons are now expected to have event experience before reaching it.
I can tell You one thing.... when You win Ypres a crowd of thousands will celebrate Your victory on the packed square under the fireworks and the celebration of Your victory will take whole night. When You win WRC2 You just drive over the finish ramp as nobody really cares about somebody who finished 15th overall.
Same goes to media attention. When Škoda was winning rallies in IRC/ERC our media were full of it. In 2015 You can't find an article saything they won something in WRC. You can just find that "Prokop finished 8th, Kopecký 12th". And that's all. Tell me what is good about that?
WRC2 is good for someone who wants to step in WRC or wants to drive WRC events because it is WORLD rally championship. Still the public or media recognition of WRC2 winners is close to zero. For manufacturer PR it's just wasted money.
Maciej Oleksowicz was 5th in WRC2/SWRC in 2012. Everybody forgot about it on the next day.

Thanks for your reply. I know what you mean. But I still don't understand it. It cannot be true that Armin Kremer (47 years old), Jourdan Serderidis (51 years old), Jean-Michel Raoux (44 years old) or Lambros Athanassoulas (39 years old), who entered WRC2 on this year's Monte, see themselves as future world rally champions :)
I don't know how much weed they would have to smoke to believe it ;)
But still - good luck to all of them!
