a mate of mine said he thinkg seb and kalle are so superior ""simply"" because they learned to trust the downforce of these cars. i mean, toyota looks to be the best car, no doubt on that. 'lucky' plays a role in rallying, of course. but it was an interesting argument. or not?
For that cause they banned mixed events; I think it's simply the matter that Deutschland lost it's spot and now has to settle with Austria & the Czech Republic with the Central European Rally & can't run it at the end of August (because of Barum Rally Zlín), Ireland aren't in the running yet, Ypres are back in the BRC, so basically we have no tarmac rally to take what used to be the usual summer tarmac rally slot.
I wish, we have a Hungarian tarmac round (in ERC region). Tracks in broken tarmac, deep forests, gravel parts and super - beatiful SS in vineyard.
But, i think the safety will be even more hazard then this weekend in Poland.
My idea is to rotate let´s say 3 different central Europe tarmac rounds (CER,Croatia,Hungary)
Overall a good rally, shame it was the way that it was but once the stages stopped being cancelled and interrupted it was actually a lot of fun to watch, maybe besides the power stage. Gotta say Sesks seriously impressed, and Fourmaux has really found his groove this season, I hope he gets a win sooner rather than later.
