They did that on purpose, as was explained 100 times already. They've fixed it, what else is there to expect?

That was before VW found the underlying cause and used a joker to homolgate a replacement injectors.

That's interesting from technology point of view. I used to run my car on 4 cylinders for a long time and there wasn't terminal damage to it.... Of course the cause wasn't failed injectors, but head gasket, anyway the damage seems similar. But abstracting from the mechanical staff, may be it computer software break down after all..

During that tests they found out how to fix it. They played a joker because they changed an homolagated part (the injector supplier, if I remember well). After that the car did not had problems anymore. They're german, they know how to fix things in a car. ;)
I'm sure they know how to fix it. It's just all the info we have;) Changing the homologated part is the "must do" step anyway.
We probably should not expect some over-hype from the challengers this year any more. Probably they're already waiting for the next one...Quote:

So shakedown in a couple of hours. Can't wait for the rally to begin. The roads look fantastic and the drivers are also praising the roads. Hoping to see Tänak's true speed finally, he was third last year until the accident and second in Fafe sprint just 0.5 down on Ogier.
