And if he will not win he is out, probably he would leave himself and chase Toyotasaki, since Ogier is still vocal about retirement.

Neuville is definitely the favourite in the beginning of the season, for the reasons mentioned here.
he has to use it well to get an advantage early
Ogier.
Ogier is my favorite. He is imo the best driver of them all, now driving the best car.
If toyota has learned from their failures this year and makes the car more reliable, i expect a year of ogier dominance while neuville and tanak hinder each other for the second place.
Especially if he kinda resolve fragile elements of the car. Then this combo is probably deadly to others. If he win the title he would be practically best of all time, winning with 3 different brands and 7 titles. Perfect goodbye if you ask me. It doesn't matter at the end as long there will be close battles, we don't want domination from one or another. Tanak already did break french dominance, so we finally saw someone who actually won over Sebs.
Ogier all the way. We know that Yaris fits well drivers who are fast on a Fiesta. It's a big question how Tänak will adapt to the i20, especially on tarmac and fast events.
I would say that Neuville has the biggest pressure.. Ogier already has maaany titles, Tänak got his this year.. and Neuville still has nothing, except 5 pointless 2nd places..
To me Neuville has stayed in Hyundai for too long and only knows how Hyundai works/drives.
Ogier and Tänak have driven two different 17' WRCs and now next year they sit in third different current era cars. I'm sure Ogier knows what not to do and Tänak knows what to do to make either Toyota or Hyundai better.
I think the battle for best of the rest will be a very interesting one. Suninen ought to up his pace if he's to still be considered among the WRC's rising stars, while Evans and Sordo had excellent 2019 seasons and are definitely still growing strong. Rovanpera will have the pressure of giants on his shoulders, and he's got the most to lose. Live up to the hype and it'll only grow, fail to do so and he might take a Lappi like turn in his budding career.
Like many estonian professors on FB.. till Tänak's WDC most of them were like ,,give Ott any of the cars and he would still crush everybody'' vs now Ogier signing Toyota.. ,,No doubt that Ogier is the 2020 WDC'' :D
Ofc Ogier will be fast in Toyota, but I think that those FB guys were years ago the hahaha ,,crashing Tänak'' ones and when he started being at the top, they became ,,true fans'' :D
I remember when Tänak went from M-Sport to Toyota and everybody complained that this was a downgrade to inferior car. Time will tell anyway it will be one helluva interesting season 2020

My money is on Tanak; he’s the best ATM. Neuville needs to improve his consistency and Ogier top gun days are over (ok, that’s a bold one...still troubled about his departure from Citroen).
What happens when Adamo has Tanak and Neuville are a couple of seconds apart on the podium near the end of the rally, Hyundai need the manufacturer points and they are both at 10 tenths. Who is he going to slow down and how will their egos handle that..?
I just intend to enjoy the '20 season, let it come.... And may the best driver/car combination wins.
It's been said that since Toyota had to change the Yaris' rear-wing some of its superiority has reduced. Also having no 'benchmark' driver with the team now may make it harder for Ogier to know how his pace is in testing.
Neuville seems very happy to have Tanak join his team, so probably knows how tricky the car is to set-up for newcomers, and how its optimised for his driving-style.
I just give Neuville favourite.
Just a little bit patience guys. You will get your answers in a couple of months.
I’m excited as hell too
Doesn't matter, he achieved his dream and goal - he became WRC world champion.
And what is your problem with that? Many drivers are associated with various manufacturers but it doesn't make them any less talented.
Kankkunen probably remembered as a Toyota driver, Alen Lancia, McRae Subaru, Makinen Mitsubishi and so on. Ogier will be remembered as the VW guy, despite winning WC with Ford (and maybe Toyota). All of those guys drove for many other manufacturers.
And I'm afraid Martin doesn't carry much truck with me anymore, given his comments of late regarding Tanaks team mates. One of which has won many more rallies than he ever did, the other has won the same amount of rallies. Neither of them have had such a catastrophic incident either.
well if I was Latvala, or Meeke, I would have been a little offended.
His man Tanak won the world championship. Maybe he should respect his peers and didn't need to say anything.
He of all people should know it's a fine line between greatness and failing to achieve, and what risk is at stake every time you get behind a wheel and push above and beyond.
It's one thing telling the truth and another being a class act. The jury's out...
With only two manu teams and one semiprivate in WRC, what would you think Formula One people would´ve done if in same situation? I mean 8-10 top drivers and only 6 seats?
And FIA? Do they even care about WRC?
Honestly, there’s little point to compare with F1; they have a grid to fill and they’re mainly interested on drivers money to do it…
Despite Citroen pull out, the WRC is not living a sudden crisis and next season can be as exciting as the previous ones. Still, it makes total sense to question the series future, especially the new rules for 2022 and the promoter expansion plans; a thread about it was open a couple of weeks ago https://www.motorsportforums.com/sho...422-WRC-future , why not use it?
