wait, what? no, wait. manufacturers DO PAY a shit ton of money to compete, like pluto said. maybe the money to traveling comes from those fees? cuz the promoter's only focus is to make a buck $ out of the sport they are promoting. they invested some $ when they enterede the championship in order to grow it and attract sponsors and manufacturers, sure. but then they want their "RoI". i dont know how stuff work but it would be weird if redbull gmbh was paying more than taking. pointless i'd argue, tbf. no?Quote:

i tried reading the thing but ahhh, its so much b.s.
that FIM e-xplorer thing with e-bikes only and like, 3 races. the tracks were basically "race around that hotel, whatever", the "public" were some fellas that were on vacation at those places and happened to watch the races. like. THIS IS LITERALLY the "greenest championship" out there. some of the teams were even sharing the bike's transportation (less CO2). nope. they are around position 60 or so, WAYYYYY behinda NASCAR in p8 (???? with +100 v8 petrol cars traveling on long hauls the whole year) this is all non sense.
WRC (and WorldRX ...and EuroRX?) scored better than last year because the "wrc promoter" did some stuff like... something... something green, i guess? anyway. other than that, heres the link to download

The bottom line is that the WRC is up shit creek if Hyundai pull out at the end of this Season, both financially and competitively. The Championship just isn't sustainable (nothing to do with being green !) in any way.
I fell the wrc is like the wrx, no one is interested of the manufacturers.
The wrx was best in the 80s and 90s, when it was a privateer european championship.
Maybe its time to go back for wrc?
Of course it would be a total different thing.
The most important thing is to get rid of the manufacturers homologate stuff, what is the point of that consept now?
If the next rally1 is a Rally2, a Rally2+ or a safetycell based car with rally2 parts and some aerodynamic build by competent builders i don't know, but for me was the Gr.A and early WRC the best championship sporting point of wiew, that should be the main goal for FIA. But i have low expectations, sadly enough.

There's two sides to homologation, one being the mass production numbers. If you didn't have that, how and where would you draw the line if the motorsport industry turns up with a road legal cross cart (buggy)? Or even a sofa, to drill the point? Would you be expecting the industry to build something in the image of a touring car, even though it will never really be one, and with a design that will never be sent to production because that isn't the 'constructor's' business? The FIA would not stand to have a manufacturer's design being modified without the approval and involvement of that manufacturer.Quote:
