What Taz said. Because of the shape of the earth its top is actually further from the centre of the earth than Everest. I believe its in Ecuador or Bolivia isn't it.
This obviously is not an attempt at an answer, just hoping I am thinking of the right one.

Correct - Chimborazo is another that can claim the highest mountain claim. It is not as high above sea level as Everest, but since it is on the equator (not quite but close enough) and the Earth is squashed and not round, Chimborazo's peak is further from the centre of the EarthQuote:

Correct Storm. The Hawaiian island of Mauna Kea. It's peak is 4000+ metres above sea level, but it's base is 6000 metres blow sea level giving it a height of 10000 metres a full 1.4 kms more than everestQuote:

ok In Oxfordshire there is a stone circle called the Roll Right Stones. Legend has it they are a petrified King and his courtiers turned to stone by a local witch. The stones themselves are much smaller and less uniform in shape than many stone circle groups. In the area known as the Roll Right Stones there are actually 3 stone monuments, the info boards and brochures say that they were built over a period of about 2000 years or so - Yes I have been there :)
