The third is in India but I can't remember its name. I'm sure Storm knows it.

everest - is the highest above sea level so it is one of the three
The peak of Chimborazo is the furthest from the center of the earth..... mate ;)
What Taz said. Because of the shape of the earth its top is actually further from the centre of the earth than Everest. I believe its in Ecuador or Bolivia isn't it.
This obviously is not an attempt at an answer, just hoping I am thinking of the right one.
;) Steve! :sailor:
Correct - Chimborazo is another that can claim the highest mountain claim. It is not as high above sea level as Everest, but since it is on the equator (not quite but close enough) and the Earth is squashed and not round, Chimborazo's peak is further from the centre of the Earth
so we have
Everest - highest above level
Chimborazo - furthest point from the centre of the Earth
Starter did mention a fact about number 3 i.e. starts under water and is therefore tallest from base to peak, but what is is called?
I'll guess it is one of the Hawaiian Islands??? :dork:
Mauna Kea
Uranusmauipoopoo
Everest - the highest point above mean sea level
Mt Kilimanjaro which is the highest above the surrounding land
The one in Ecuador which is furthest from the centre of the earth (It's further than Everest because of the earth's bulge at the equator)
The Pacific island which is the greatest height from base to peak.
Can't name the last two without looking them up
In conclusion we have
Everest - Starter
Chimborazo - Tazio
Mauna Kea - Storm.
Over to which ever of you three wishes to set the next challenge
I'll pass. Someone else take it.
I'll take it mate.
Here is one that Steve probably will get if someone like Storm, Schmencks', or Gadji don't get to it first :champion: :dork:
This ancient site that legend tells us was formed by a witch's curse, is also the title of a most righteous song (imo) from this album:

Went to see a standing stone
Some in circles, some alone
Ancient, worn and weather torn
They chill me to my very bone
Many of these can be seen
In quiet places, fields of green
Of hedgerow lanes with countless names
But the only thing that remains are the ******** ******
Well, this used to be my favourite thread :s
Stop complaining schmenke...
Just think what ******** ****** might mean.:p
Another clue lads, and ladies:
The ********* ****** reside in, and just across the border of the county that also is home to what is generally considered the oldest English speaking university.
Headmaster: An ancient ruin did you say, my dear? Sutterwick: [upon seeing Katie] This isn't a joke, is it?
Headmaster's Wife: Chippings lost all sense of proportion.
Headmaster: Some people might think he'd found it.
I bet anfield will know the answer.
He always knows.......
County....Oxford?????
Still don't know the place.
ok In Oxfordshire there is a stone circle called the Roll Right Stones. Legend has it they are a petrified King and his courtiers turned to stone by a local witch. The stones themselves are much smaller and less uniform in shape than many stone circle groups. In the area known as the Roll Right Stones there are actually 3 stone monuments, the info boards and brochures say that they were built over a period of about 2000 years or so - Yes I have been there :)
Hey......If you're right I won the bet. :p
You live in NZ. When the f had you time to visit that place?
What is recognised as being the coldest sea on Earth?

I'd say it , but Gadji would murder me!
I have a healthy sense of humour so all you'll risk is to be spanked.

Who cares what some old farts think? Not me. Just look at their dumb faces........A woman who marries such an idiot really deserve a good spank. :p
But once again I bet that if a woman posted something degrading on men you would be the first to get inflammated and to protest. Sorrrrrrryyyyyyyy................................. .......
I'm not angry. Your a*s is safe....
Back to geography. Barents?
I'm not offended at all.
It's not important that it's an old article. Men's mentality hasn't changed much over the centuries. The idea of "beating comes from Heaven" has deep roots.
Tazio, you old pervert.......:devil:Quote:
