No more news on possible tyres for different competitors?
My predictions are that Kubica won't get though the next 3 stages.
Thierry Neuville said before the rally that his aim will be to be in the finish of this rally. I think it is better approach then previous years, when he was very quick but also very soon out of the road.:)
He never finished in Monte, so maybe he is trying to finish for first time and not searching for any limits.
So, basically I can understand that kubica was driving smootly and pretty safely. Ogier was slower because he was trying to create big cuts via the snowpiles and other corners. the point here is the fact that he do not need to be faster than Kubica he just needs to make the life harder for those behind him ;-)
What's up with Lorenzo Bertelli and all this "fuckmatie" stuff?
close call for Elfyn

So, second loop of stages will be starting in about 10 minutes. Let's see what the roadsituation will be like and what tyres different competitors will have mounted on their cars.

Way to early for this comparison.
Don't forget the Hyundai isn't on the level of the other cars yet. Neuville also won his first rally last year and was on the podium a few times iirc.
I have no doubt he will be fighting for victories soon after the new Hyundai makes it debut. I think Andreas Mikkelsen Neuville will both become regular challengers for victory in the next season or two, along with maybe Meeke as well (although Kris doesnt have age on his side long term).
Ostberg/Loeb: 4 snow + 2 Super Soft (SS)
Ogier: 4 studded + 2 SS
From Michelin twitter
Sordo/Neuville/Latvala/Mikkelsen/Tanak/Meeke: 2 snow + 2 studded + 2 Super Soft
Evans/Solberg: 4 studded + 2 snow
On WRR Becs is just mentioning that most of stage 6 is in fog, only about 20m of visibility.
close call for Ogier, or MaxAttack :)

Chardonet is on the stage now
Loeb: 4 snow + 2 super-soft slicks
Ogier: 4 studded tyres + 2 super-soft slicks
Latvala: 2 snow, 2 studded, 2 super-soft
Tanak: 2 snow, 2 studded, 2 super-soft
Evans: 4 studded + 2 snow
Meeke: 2 snow, 2 studded, 2 super-soft
Mikkelsen: 2 snow, 2 studded, 2 super-soft
So no studs for Loeb...aggressive, i hope it pays off
Less ice, more mud compared to 1st run according to Bruno Saby
Bruno Saby (Car 0):
The conditions are worse than this morning, lots of fog, big changes of grip, + mud - ice this morning.
He thinks Loeb made the right bet.
That's interesting
Quote:
FRI 14:43 - SS7 WEATHER
Snow falling at the 18km point. Still plenty of ice.
Kubica and Ogier slower than Chardo at 1 st split o.O
Chardo finnaly find 2nd gear. Fastest so far after 1st split
Does Pirelli provide tyre choices for thier drivers anywhere?
Kubica faster at finish than Chardo, hard on tires...
